About

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for visiting my site.

As the page states, my name is Devin Cromwell. I am 24 years old and I am located in the midcoast Maine area. I work as a carpenter during the day and an audio engineer at night for the time being. I graduated second in my class from Full Sail University’s Music Production degree program in late 2013. I started serving the midcoast area as an Audio Engineer in early 2013 and I’ve been expanding my client list since.  I fill the rest of my time by writing songs, playing the guitar, bass, and piano.

My musical interests today are quite broad. I listen to everything I can, no matter what it is. I enjoy any perspective on harmony and rhythm from any corner of the world. My main area of expertise however is with the guitar, mainly in the metal genre. Since the beginning of college, I started expanding the types of music I wrote into electronic, rock, reggae and orchestral. I like to keep my mind open about incorporating any genre or instrument into my music. As I progressed through school I found my true passion to be behind the scenes in the more technical engineering side of music whether it be recording, mixing in a studio or live setting, or finalizing a mix in the mastering process.

Music has always consumed my mind and soul, as a child, I would hum to myself. The catch was that I could not end the phrase until I found the right note to resolve it. If I did not find it, I felt bothered. I did not know why I did it or felt that way until years later. Besides occasionally playing on a keyboard, I did not devote much thought into playing music until the end of seventh grade. This is when I bought my first electric guitar, a blue and white Squire cyclone with a small Fender practice amp. I learned all the cool cover songs that everybody seemed to grow up playing but prewritten music did not hold my attention like creating my own riffs did.

Throughout high school, I played with friends, created bands, recorded material, and played one local show. It was not until my senior year in high school that I had any formal musical training though. I took almost every music class offered including: Guitar, Music Composition, Music Theory, and Musical Improvisation. I also joined the school jazz band and jazz combo as the guitarist.

The ending of high school and all this new musical knowledge inspired me to make music my career. After several failed bands later, a lack of local music facilities, and the lack of technology to record myself, I had to look at other options to pursue my goal. A couple years later, I found Full Sail University.

While attending Full Sail, my musical goals and aspirations have grown rapidly since the beginning. My initial goal before school was to create a band, write music, and tour. I soon realized that my plan to achieve that goal was weak and unlikely. Two years after my enrollment, I have learned about jobs within the music industry that I never knew existed. My ultimate goal now is to be a freelance producer taking on any type of work. There are just so many possibilities; I do not want to rule anything out. I feel that as long as I am working with audio, I will be happy with my job.

Thank you for your interest, enjoy the rest of my site.

  1. Hi Devin, Sorry to contact you this way. I am one the members of Pretty Girls Sing Soprano (actually former member) and I have money and a flash drive for you that I was supposed to get to the Chocolate Church for you, but do due to a missed communication with my husband – it didn’t get delivered. So Sorry! How can I get it to you directly? I live in Bath, but due to my job I can’t really get to the CC during business hours. Could we make plans to meet somewhere or I’ll bring it to you? Hope you see this soon, I’ll try and get more info from Susan about how to get in touch with you but I found this site and thought I’d give it a try. Again, I’m sorry for the delay and inconvenience.
